Global software leader AVEVA strengthens Cambridge commitment with new Science Park HQ

AVEVA is investing around £30 million in a major new research and development hub at Cambridge Science Park, bringing more than 500 colleagues together in a flagship facility designed to support the company’s next phase of AI-driven growth.

The refurbished 80,000 sq ft facility at 101 Cambridge Science Park represents one of the largest leasing transactions in Cambridge in recent years, further reinforcing the Park’s position as a leading destination for innovation-led businesses in the UK.

Construction is already underway on the extensive redevelopment, with phased occupation beginning in 2026 ahead of a full opening in summer 2027, perfectly timed to coincide with AVEVA’s 60th anniversary.

With roots in Cambridge dating back to 1967, AVEVA’s continued investment reflects both the strength of the Cambridge innovation ecosystem and the enduring appeal of Cambridge Science Park as a destination for globally ambitious technology businesses.

Aveva CEO Caspar Herzberg said: “Our investment in Cambridge reflects the exceptional talent, growth and Industrial Intelligence capabilities that define the region.”

Jane Hutchins, Director of External Affairs at Cambridge Science Park, said:  “This move really highlights the energy and ambition of Cambridge Science Park, creating the right environment for innovative companies to scale quickly, collaborate and succeed.”
