Masterplan update: community feedback

Thank everyone who has contributed their time, feedback and insight into shaping our masterplan for the future Park.

Over the past year, we’ve carried out an extensive programme of public consultation. This has included more than 250 survey responses, hundreds of conversations at public exhibitions, youth engagement workshops with three local schools, and meetings with community groups and local politicians. The views shared through these activities have directly influenced the proposals and helped ensure they respond to local priorities.

You told us that the future Science Park should be greener, more welcoming and family-friendly; easier and safer to walk and cycle around; and somewhere the wider community can enjoy, supported by cafés and social spaces. You also highlighted the importance of strong sustainability and biodiversity measures, responsible long-term growth that protects what makes the Park special, and improvements to the local transport network.

We’ve listened carefully, and these priorities are reflected in the updated masterplan. Further details on the feedback received and how it has shaped the proposals can be found here.

We intend to submit an outline planning application in the coming weeks, marking the next stage in the planning process. Once submitted, the application will be available to view on the local authority’s planning portal.
