Byte Size: AI & IP: Know Your Options

This event has passed.

26 March
5:30 pm - 8:15 pm

The Bradfield Centre

Event Description:

AI is evolving rapidly, transforming everything from automation to personalised medicine. But with fast-paced innovation comes the challenge of knowing when, and how, to protect your AI inventions. Myths around AI and intellectual property are common, and the reality is often more nuanced.

This Byte Size workshop is a practical, hands-on session for innovators, entrepreneurs, and anyone developing or commercialising AI. Using real examples, we’ll clarify which AI inventions can be patented, when trade secrets might be the better route, and how to make informed decisions about protecting your IP.

You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions and to network with fellow attendees over drinks and pizza.

Why attend?
Learn when patents or trade secrets can protect software and AI innovations, what common misconceptions to avoid, and how to assess your own ideas before seeking specialist advice.

Who should attend?
Open to anyone working in or around AI, developers, R&D leads, C‑suite, and IP professionals looking to strengthen their strategy.

Julia Gwilt, Partner, Appleyard Lees IP LLP

Anne McAleer, Head of IP, Paragraf
