Senior Programme Manager, Life Sciences

The mission of the Science Team is to support the scientific research community through a range of networks, events and advocacy activities. The Life Sciences team forms a key part of this department and has particular responsibility for life sciences, ranging from underpinning science in organic chemistry, analytical science and at the chemistry-biology interface to applications in addressing global societal challenges in areas such as human health and sustainability.

This role involves managing a team of experts and working closely with members of the scientific community, in academia and industry, including our Divisions, Interest Groups and wider UK and international networks.

The team has focused on themes such as anti-microbial resistance, diagnostics, bioenergy, new models for medicines research & development, sustainable chemicals from living organisms and synthetic biology. We place a strong emphasis on collaboration with colleagues in our industry, higher education, publishing, open innovation, international development, strategic partnerships and communications and campaigns teams.
