Cambridge Consultants again named one of the best companies to work for
“I am delighted that our employees continue to see us as an outstanding place to work,” said Alan Richardson, CEO of Cambridge Consultants. “Our ambitious expansion plans have seen us reach a global workforce of more than 700 – but, at the same time, we have made it a priority to preserve our unique working culture. We aim to be the platform for the ambitions of our staff – by providing an environment in which they can develop and reach their full potential.”
Cambridge Consultants has achieved 55th place – ahead of many household names and once again recognising it as the best mid-sized company to work for in the Cambridge technology cluster. Places in the top 100 list are determined by the results of a staff survey, which examines various aspects of company life to reveal how employees really perceive their work environment.
The survey covers topics ranging from team spirit, and how well staff feel they are treated, to how proud employees are to work for their company – and whether they think their organisation puts something back into society. Initial results from the survey reveal that 92% of staff said they were proud to work for Cambridge Consultants.
Employees at Cambridge Consultants receive free lunches and refreshments, as well as a comprehensive healthcare package and a performance-related bonus scheme – and more than half a million pounds a year is invested in training. An active social club gives the company a ‘family feel’, and it has a culture of care, support and teamwork.
By 2019, more than £50 million will have been invested in growing the firm’s world-class facilities at its Cambridge Science Park headquarters in the UK. Last year it also expanded its US headquarters in Boston – and opened a new office in Japan. The company recruited 100 people last year, as well as acquiring 140-strong product development firm Synapse on the US West Coast. There are plans to recruit a further 100 or more employees during 2017.
“Our staff are key to our success – and a crucial part of what makes us the employer of choice for truly talented people,” said Richardson. “Working alongside great colleagues on a variety of difficult challenges is what inspires our people to produce world-class innovation for our clients. It’s great to see their job satisfaction reflected in these results.”
