Conference features case studies and demonstrations highlighting the significant business value Linguamatics I2E software provides in mining unstructured data in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare fields
Linguamatics, successful pioneers in natural language processing based text mining, are proud to report their most successful Spring Users Conference ever. The annual spring conference attracted the largest numbers and variety of attendees, organizations and business partners in the history of the event.
Experienced, new and potential users of Linguamatics I2E software were provided with an excellent opportunity to explore trends in text mining and analytics, natural language processing and knowledge discovery. Delegates discovered how I2E is delivering valuable intelligence from text in a range of applications, including the mining of scientific literature, news feeds, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), social media, patents and clinical trial data. Customer presentations demonstrated how I2E helps workers in knowledge driven organizations meet the challenge of information overload, maximize the value of their information assets and increase speed to insight.
Attracting participants from top pharmaceutical, biotechnology and other life science and healthcare organizations from Europe and North America, the conference program featured speakers from AstraZeneca, Roche, Bayer Pharma, GSK and Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Commenting on the high levels of participation, Senior VP of Sales & Marketing Phil Hastings said: “We have strong relationships with our user community, who know they can trust us to be a reliable, responsive and committed supplier of text mining software and services. The success of this conference demonstrates yet again that our customers are getting real value from using our solutions to address complex challenges and opportunities that they face every day.”
The conference included hands-on workshops, presentations, roundtable discussions and evening networking events. Delegates welcomed the opportunity to share best practice and learn from each other as well as from Linguamatics’ experts. The event afforded new and potential users with a timely update on the latest I2E product developments, including the introduction of a new web services API that makes the software easier to integrate and embed within other enterprise platforms and workflows, and enhanced chemical text mining features. CTO David Milward’s forward-looking technology road map received a great deal of interest from delegates.
A selection of Linguamatics’ partners, Accelrys, ChemAxon and Moreover, contributed to the conference sessions with short presentations on their solutions and how they integrate with I2E.
Three of the four original founders of Linguamatics – CTO David Milward, COO Roger Hale and Head of QA James Thomas – are still with the up-and-coming Cambridge high tech company and felt this latest event marked a real milestone in the company’s impressive progress. “It’s amazing to think how much we have achieved in the year since our last spring conference, and indeed how far we have come since we held our first users conference in 2007” observed Roger. “We are very proud to have so many organizations as customers who are finding increasing value from mining huge volumes of internal and external textual data.”
Linguamatics will be holding its fall conference, the Linguamatics Text Mining Summit, in Newport, RI, USA on October 7-9 2013.
Linguamatics is the world leader in deploying innovative natural language processing (NLP)-based text mining for high-value analytics, knowledge discovery and decision support. Linguamatics I2E software platform is used by leading commercial, academic and government organizations, including 9 of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
