Robin Walker MP. Minister of State (Northern Ireland Office) recently visited the headquarters of Eakin Healthcare Group to meet with Director, Jeremy Eakin and the Management Team at TG Eakin Ltd. The Minister was given a tour of our manufacturing facility and introduced to employees. We highlighted how, thanks to the dedicated colleagues within our organisation, the business had met the challenge of Covid-19 head on and had successfully maintained full production to ensure the needs and demands of ostomates internationally were met during the global lockdown. The minister also learned how office based employees adapted to working from home and adjusted business interactions with customers to ensure they were fully supported by the company during the crisis.
The Minister then had informal discussions with the Management Team to discuss the implications of the end of the BREXIT transition period on the company’s trade both within the UK and internationally. The minister was impressed with the business’s agility and ability to respond to challenges and commended the team as an example of a successful business within Northern Ireland. The minister was also keen to learn how the government could assist businesses. Jeremy Eakin commented, “It was a pleasure to welcome the Minister to the business and we would like to thank him for the time he took to engage with us on the current challenges faced by business and the genuine willingness which he showed to support enterprise within Northern Ireland.”
