Mark Rayner has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer at CW (Cambridge Wireless), the leading not-for-profit, international community for companies involved in the research, development and application of wireless and mobile, internet, semiconductor and software technologies. Currently an Innovation and Finance Specialist at St John’s Innovation Centre, Mark will be replacing Simon Mead, who stepped down earlier this year, and he will be taking up his role from 16th May.
Its an exciting time for CW as we return to face to face events, with CW TEC on 22th June and the CW International Conference planned for 27th September. We’re thrilled to have Mark join us as we take on the privilege of delivering Cambridge Tech Week next year. This inspiring and aspirational tech event will bring together inspirational founders, government and corporate leaders, investors and the rising stars of Cambridge tech together for a week of in-person conversations, events and socials.
Mark brings a broad knowledge of corporate finance and venture capital as well as entrepreneurial experience helping teams build and test strategies, focus, structure and plan for growth. Mark’s career spans several sectors, from the Royal Air Force, SME lending, Life Sciences, and as a business builder at a number high growth technology companies. He has also lived and worked extensively in North America with clients such as Google, GoPro, Autodesk, Audi, Tesla and Apple. Mark spends his time mentoring and coaching entrepreneurs of the future and in his voluntary role as Advisor at Astia, champions and helps fund women in business, globally.
