Cambridge Science Centre Welcomes Brockton Everlast as New Executive Council Member New Three-Year Partnership to Develop Innovative Programme on the Built Environment

  • Date 25 Sep 2024

Cambridge Science Centre is proud to announce the appointment of Brockton Everlast as the newest member of its Executive Council. This partnership marks the beginning of an exciting three-year collaboration to develop an innovative programme focused on the Built Environment, which is currently in its early stages.

The programme seeks to illuminate the critical role that urban planning and development play in shaping our future while broadening young people’s perception of the sector. Moving beyond the traditional image of hard hats and high-vis vests, this new partnership will craft a comprehensive programme to help young people explore and discover the diverse STEM skills and disciplines related to the Built Environment industry. The overall programme will deliver a fully tested and developed 'Built Environment Learning Programme', which will be used to engage and support schools and teachers right through to the local community. This will help support the Charity's overriding mission to engage with underserved young people who are underrepresented in STEM.

"We are thrilled to welcome Brockton Everlast to our Executive Council and to embark on this new journey together," said John Bull, CEO at Cambridge Science Centre. "Their support and expertise will be invaluable as we develop this programme, which we believe will not only educate the public about the importance of urban planning but also inspire the next generation to explore careers in this vital field."

Dan Brown, Senior Managing Director, Head of Portfolio at Brockton Everlast, said “We are hugely proud to be sponsoring Cambridge Science Centre (CSC) and joining their Executive Council. We are always committed to finding the most tangible ways possible to give back to the neighbourhoods we invest in and, as a long-term investor in Cambridge Science Park, we look forward to working closely with the team at CSC to help inspire children in the local and wider Cambridge community and create a more accessible and inclusive environment which opens the door to the world leading innovation taking place at the Park.”

In addition to programme development, Brockton Everlast's support will also enable the expansion of Cambridge Science Centre's team. Thanks to this partnership, two new weekend roles are currently being advertised, significantly enhancing the Centre's capacity to engage with visitors and deliver high-quality educational experiences.

This collaboration with Brockton Everlast marks a significant step forward for Cambridge Science Centre as it continues to innovate and expand its offerings. The Centre remains committed to its mission of making science accessible to all and fostering a deeper understanding of the world around us.
