The Royal Society of Chemistry has an opportunity for a Treasury Assistant to join us on a permanent full-time (35-hour week) basis.

As our Treasury Assistant you will provide support to our Treasury Supervisor in delivering an efficient Treasury service, which has responsibility for managing key banking operations for the RSC, ensuring group liquidity and reconciling bank records with RSC finance systems. This role requires a keen eye for detail with experience of banking administration, financial reporting and cash flow forecasting. 

We are looking for: 

  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced data manipulation and presentation skills a prerequisite)
  • Experience working in a finance environment, or possess the relevant transferable skills
  • Able to quickly develop a good understanding of double-entry accounting (ideally willing to work towards completing AAT but this is not essential)
  • Able to quickly develop sufficient working knowledge of;
  • Finance Accounting Systems - NetSuite and ReconArt
  • On-line Banking Systems - currently RBS Bankline, Barclays and Citizens
  • On-line Investment Systems - currently JPM and Schroders
  • BACS systems - currently BACS-Tel IP (Bottomline PT-X)
  • MS Office Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work to the requirements of detailed daily, weekly and monthly accounting cycles and deadlines, ensuring that internal and external customers’ needs are met
  • Able to develop a clear understanding of key procedures in our Finance department, in order to explain these to RSC personnel and ensure that they are always adhered to

The contractual base for this role is our Cambridge office, however we are currently embracing hybrid working, and therefore you will have the opportunity to also work from a location other than this, as agreed with your line manager.
