Cambridge Touch Technologies Ltd. For this role, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with 2+ years’ experience in a commercial environment.
As a Mechanical Engineer the key skills and qualities required are:
- Engineering or Physics Degree (or equivalent qualification) to at least 2.1 level
- At least two years of relevant industry experience or equivalent
- CAD experience – familiar with creating 3D mechanical parts and assemblies. Experience using SolidWorks is essential
- Experience with FEA software – familiar with creating finite element models to determine stress and strain in mechanical parts
- Formal requirements definition and capture
- Experience in plastics, moulding and production – experience of the design, including “design for manufacture” techniques, of both plastic and metal parts and assemblies
- Excellent spoken and written English, with clear communication skills and an understanding of good documentation practices
And some beneficial skills (not essential) may involve:
- COMSOL experience
- Automotive experience
- Fluent in either Mandarin Chinese or German language
Envisaged duties will include:
- Design and creation of mechanical concepts and designs to support force applications
- Interpretation, analysis and modification of customer supplied designs
- Develop and maintain mechanical application rules for CTT sensors for use by partners and customers
