The Royal Society of Chemistry seeks a Digital Content Assistant on a full-time temporary basis for twelve months.
At the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate. Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will also be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend our offices and travel as needed for your role. In this role you will attend our offices 2 days per week (initially more frequently to support your induction). If you need flexible working arrangements, please outline this in your application.
The RSC is embarking on a project to update our CMS for our corporate website. The primary purpose of this role is to support our web team during this transition period, ensuring that the RSC’s corporate web properties are working effectively as an international shop window for the organisation, its products, services and work. All content must accurately reflect the brand, be optimised for discoverability and be kept accurate and up-to-date.
In this Digital Content Assistant role, you will assist with the creation and maintenance of web content for the RSC’s corporate website. This will range from updates to existing content to creation of landing pages and entirely new sections of the website. Through your knowledge of best practices and user experience, you will shape and plan content projects with wider teams before executing on delivery. As such, working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation will be required to maximise the success of the website against departmental goals. You will also use knowledge in SEO to ensure that all content is optimised for visibility.
What we are looking for:
- Educated to ‘A’ Level (minimum) or equivalent.
- Experience with content management systems (experience with Episerver or a similar enterprise level CMS would be an advantage).
- Ability to craft engaging user journeys through understanding how content and campaigns fit together, with excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of current trends in web design and content structure.
- Excellent communication skills, highly organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
When applying, please provide an up-to-date CV and a supporting statement (no more than 500 words) indicating how your skills / expertise match the competencies outlined in the job description here.
At the RSC, we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce and welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds to apply. As a part of the Disability Confident Scheme, we endeavour, where possible, to offer an interview to candidates meeting the essential criteria of the role, who has a substantial physical/mental impairment which impacts their ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. We are committed to making our recruitment processes accessible to all and as part of this, we are flexible in the ways we give and receive information.
