Sharpening Perceptions - how to copy a masterpiece
12:30 - 13:15
This fascinating online presentation will help you see things in paintings that the casual observer may easily miss.
Spike Bucklow (who used to work for Cambridge Consultants) is a scientist at the Fitzwilliam Museum. He will talk about an exhibition at the Museum that was closed prematurely due to Covid-19. It is centred around part of the training of conservators which includes the reconstruction of an old master painting. The presentation will show original paintings and student copies to explore the physical and chemical construction of visible images.
Spike has the responsibility of training future painter conservators and he is also a distinguished author and popular speaker. This presentation will shed new light on old masters when next you visit the Fitzwilliam Museum.
Please register using the form on the right and we will send you a Zoom link on the day of the event.
