In this session Scale Up Director and Innovation & Growth Specialist Emma Douglas-Beet will be discussing funding and finance opportunities available for businesses and IP audit scheme available through Innovate UK EDGE.

Julie Pauley, Ecosystem Relationship & Gateway Lead, Innovate UK EDGE
Julie Pauley has spent most of her career helping hundreds of SMEs to access a range of funded business support programmes. Whilst working as a Business Adviser she supported all aspects of business planning and, as an Innovation Adviser, helped businesses with their grant applications.
Julie has also run her own business support consultancy supporting numerous small to medium companies to engage with large corporates.
Emma Douglas-Beet, Innovation & Growth Specialist and Scale Up Director, Innovate UK EDGE
Innovate UK EDGE Innovation & Growth Specialist and Scaleup Director, Emma Douglas-Beet, has co-founded several businesses over the last 18 years, including a Marketing Agency, Grant Support organisation and Equity Investment (Investment Readiness) business. Through her knowledge of sales and marketing, she has not only supported founders to launch, scale and grow new innovations, but also guided them to secure over £20m equity funding from Angels, funds, and crowdfunding platforms. Over the last few years, she has built a black book of investors and has personally worked with 100’s of companies over her career.
Paul Harrison
IP21 is an Intellectual Property law firm offering a comprehensive range of IP services. Whilst founded in 2000, ip21’s predecessor firm had been in East Anglia since 1980 and the firm’s London office has been in practice since 1908. Rachel Daniel, Intellectual Property Specialist, IP21
Rachel moved into intellectual property after ten years in academia at various universities. She brings both academic and commercial experience to her work having also invested time in hospitality management. Rachel holds a BSc in biomedical sciences as well a PhD in cancer biology and is now an Intellectual Property Specialist for IP21.
