What is Time?
Only time - whatever that may be - will tell
Stephen Hawking
The only reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once
Albert Einstein
What exactly is time? When did it begin? Science, philosophy and religion have all wrestled with these questions. Time is something we all experience but when it comes to explaining what it is, it quickly becomes rather more complicated. Interestingly the Bible offers a fresh and enlightening perspective about time that informs and yet challenges our contemporary understanding - that turns out to be really good news.
We were delighted to welcome our speaker Tom Hutchings who will be helping us explore this topic. Tom works for St Andrew the Great Church in the centre of Cambridge as minister for families. He has a background in both Philosophy and Theology and his research examined the way our reasoning implies a particular understanding of matter and time (often an inconsistent one!)
Do come along and bring any interested colleagues for what will be a really stimulating talk.
Parks At One will be meeting in the Trinity Centre. Food is available to purchase at the cafe on site or free to bring your own lunch while you listen.
Generously hosted by The Bradfield Centre, Cambridge's hub for tech and deep tech companies operated by Central Working. Our mission is to grow scaleups and provide them with the connections and support they need to thrive. The way we do this is by building a sense of community through human interactions and high-quality events which engage our members and allow for networking.
