The Hidden Secrets of Cambridge
12:30 - 13:30
Do you know Cambridge as well as you think you do? In this short talk aimed at those already working or living around Cambridge, come and discover some of its hidden secrets:
So, is it really true that Cambridge has no links with Harry Potter?
Where would you find a famous illustrator’s drawing of an even more famous naturalist, both of whom studied here?
A British poet, (who was actually claimed by two colleges), ordered something to prevent the recurrence of a traumatic childhood event, that you can still see today
And finally, a university document that could be explosive if it ever got into the wrong hands!
The speaker, Murray Jacobs, is a Cambridge Green Badge Guide who runs general and tailored walking tours of Cambridge for first-time visitors, business clients and people living locally. He also gives short, fun and informative talks on “The Hidden Secrets of Cambridge” to companies for those who may prefer listening to the talk before exploring and discovering Cambridge’s secrets at a time and pace that suits them.
