Johnson Matthey retains its Platinum Rating for Sustainability from EcoVadis

ohnson Matthey (JM) has retained its Platinum Rating from EcoVadis, a business sustainability rating company. Platinum is the highest rating a company can achieve, and means JM remains in the top 1% of companies assessed. JM is committed to sustainability and has set targets to reach net zero by 2040. These include a 33% reduction in scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and 20% reduction in Scope 3 emissions from purchase goods and services.  JM also uses EcoVadis services to assess the sustainability performance of its own suppliers. In FY2021/22 25% of JM’s procurement spend had been rated and received at least a bronze medal. Anne Chassagnette, Chief Sustainability Officer at JM, says: “Science and sustainability are at the core of JM. Our products are helping to catalyse the net zero transition, but it’s also important that we look at our own operations and people to ensure we are being as sustainable as possible. The score from EcoVadis is further validation that we are leading in sustainability and having a positive impact on society.” Read more
