Our Impact

Cambridge Science Park isn’t just home to pioneering companies. It’s a place where we connect with the local community, open our doors to the public, and put sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

For more than 50 years, the Park has been a catalyst for change.

While our tenants shape breakthroughs in science and technology, we work hard to make sure their impact extends far beyond labs and offices. From green open spaces to school partnerships, from biodiversity projects to community events, we believe innovation should make life better for everyone.

The Park isn’t a closed campus. It’s part of our city.

Our landscaped grounds, lakes and walking trails are open to the public, offering beautiful spaces to exercise, unwind and connect with nature. Wildlife flourishes alongside world-class research, and wellbeing is at the centre of daily Park life.

See how we’re driving change

We’re creating a place where innovation and responsible growth go hand in hand, with a clear commitment to reaching net zero by 2050 at the latest.

Our approach focuses on three priorities:

Net zero and sustainable places
Enhancing our environment and nature
Cultivating a strong, connected community

To deliver on our net zero ambition, we are reducing carbon emissions, improving resource efficiency and working closely with occupiers to encourage sustainable choices across the Park from recycling to transport.

Efficient, comfortable buildings: a retrofit-first refurbishment programme is improving energy performance, comfort and wellbeing while reducing carbon and material use.

Solar power: studies show 80% of buildings have additional rooftop solar potential, with plans underway to expand onsite and offsite renewables to meet demand and reduce GHG emissions.

Waste management: a Park-wide recycling contract supports occupiers in reducing waste, cutting emissions and lowering costs.

Green travel: sustainable transport options include a regular shuttle to Cambridge North Station, plus on-site cycle hire and repair facilities.

Occupier engagement: collaboration is key, with shared learning, best practice guidance and anonymised performance data supporting continuous improvement.

Nature and amenity: set within 152 acres of parkland, we’re enhancing biodiversity, green spaces and wellbeing through walking routes, trails, a gym and year-round activities, open to our community and neighbours alike.

Our approach focuses on three priorities:

Net zero and sustainable places
Enhancing our environment and nature
Cultivating a strong, connected community

Inspiring the Next Generation

Being at the heart of Cambridge gives us a unique opportunity to inspire future innovators. Through partnerships with local schools, colleges and universities, we connect young people to the world of science and technology right on their doorstep.

From Trinity College, Cambridge, our founder, to our links with Anglia Ruskin University and the Cambridge Science Centre, we’re committed to nurturing curiosity, encouraging careers in STEM, and opening doors to opportunity.

Connected to the City and Beyond.

Located in the heart of an urban community, we’re woven into the fabric of Cambridge life. With Cambridge North train station just 20 minutes away — or a 5-minute ride by bike, scooter or shuttle — the Park is perfectly positioned for collaboration, commuting and connections to London.

Our Role in Cambridge

Cambridge Science Park is open to everyone and has always been closely connected with surrounding schools, universities, businesses and communities. Families enjoy weekends, schools bring pupils to learn and explore, and the Park continues to foster collaboration while strengthening Cambridge’s reputation as one of the most innovative places in the world.

Impact that goes beyond the Park
